Sony reveal Satin Silver Slimline PS2

Personally, I'm not sure on the thinking behind launching this a few days before Sony are very likely going to reveal the PS3 at E3, but hey, who am I to question Sony's reasoning?

The new Satin Silver model will be available throughout Europe from 13th May 2005, and will sell alongside the current black model at a recommended retail price of £114.99 in the UK (with black DVD remote control).

to be fair, the slimline psone was released after the ps2. sony seem happy to keep an obsolete home console on the go at the same time as their current one

Looks nice, but I already have the original Silver PS2. Is there any benefit, apart from size, to the Slimline models?
