    Need some extra cooling?

    This is something I've wanted to do, but never had the resources to do it. Peter Edge did though. Not worked out what I'm talking about yet? Here's a clue:
    I work in a computer store building PCs all day. With every new case there are one or two 8cm case fans included. Most of the systems we build do not need any more cooling than is supplied by the CPU fan as most of our customers generally don't go in for all this "overclocking malarky".
    Looking around the stock room I discovered two large boxes of unused 8cm case fans.
    Click here and all will be revealed. I think 'cool' would be an appropriate word here, yes?
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Since he says it hardly makes a diffrence then i think its just for looks...pretty pointeless for cooling your pc..and i am sure all those fans running all the time must use alot of electricity.

    heh - it may be one of those things where word gets around. I built a machine with 16 case fans (8 of them 120mm) to draw heat away from teh raid 5 array of cheetahs I was running (it was a render server) side panel was just a frame to hold teh fans, and over 1000cfm of air was transiting the case. I was so proud of this completely stupid feat - I told all of my mates back home. Didn't crash once tho - and was running a dual 550w power supply (one of those stupidly large "redundant" supermicro jobbies.
