Even though NVIDIA has a ready supply of the 7800GTX cards which were launched earlier this week, HEXUS has learnt that some partners will not have product available until the middle of July.
However, even more interesting is that a representative of POV stated to HEXUS today that:Maybe someone should inform Point-of-View that there are differences meaning the XFX and BFG have higher clocks as standard, but on the other hand if they can not give us a compelling reason to buy their cards, surely you shouldn't? Right? However I suppose it does give you, the consumer that little more chance of snagging one, but from what we are hearing you want analysis of the final retail boards. At this point we feel there is no meaning for a 7800 analysis. Since all cards now come from the same factory, there shall be be no difference between the cards
Even if they do all come from the same factory it does not mean that they won't be speed binned, or different companies do different bundles.
Update: We have just had a quick call around most of the UK e-tailors, of which none could give us a lead time on the POV cards, yet we could buy a BFG, XFX and an ASUS. Maybe this is the bigger story.
Update 2: Week 27 is the release time (next Thursday) they will be coming with a games bundle. Whilst this is not a guaranteed date, this is an estimate.
The price of the POV card is £390inc and the Gigabyte is coming in at £369inc. So our bet is to go for Gigabyte, why pay more?
