Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of legendary playwright and enemy of all school children, William Shakespeare, has introduced a PDA powered tourist guide.
Utilising wireless hotspots around the town, PDAs, which can be rented for £8 according to BBC News, provide maps of the area, guides to tourist areas within the town and also give users Internet access.
BT is installing wireless hotspots in various locations around the town, including cafés, tourist attractions and shops. Chris Clark, Chief Exec of BT Broadband told the BBC:This sounds like a fantastic idea, but giving a random person a PDA for just 8 quid? I hope they have severely crippled functionality, or something to prevent tourists from half-inching them.
