    Raaaaar... violent sports....Yay!

Ever since The Bitmap Brothers Speedball 2, I've had a bit of a 'thing' for violent future games.

So I was quietly pleased when Chaos League: Sudden Death landed on my doormat this morning.

Even according to the back of the box, this add-on fixes the issues with the original Chaos League, which was pretty good anyway... so I'm looking forward to loading this one up to see what's what... That's once I clear this backlog of work that's piled up since I was out all of yesterday...

Dougal, it's sort of like that... It's a fantasy based version of American Football with increasing stats for your players the longer you play etc etc. But the great thing about it is it's got a tongue firmly wedged in its cheek... some games you can just forget about the ball, focus on killing the opposition and then go and score once they're all dead or incapicitated... or indeed, decapitated.

Anybody remember brutal sports football? It was more rugby / aussie football related than chaos league, consequently it was a bit more free flowing.

I know what it is Nick, I remember the original speedball, I also know however that its probably looking fantasy to escape a Adults Only certificate in the states.

Never even heard of this Chaos League, why is this, its a speedball clone

Will be keeping an eye out for this one

EDIT: Anyone who played Blood Bowl from Games Workshop will feel at home with this, watching the video's its just Blood Bowl. Time to scour the game shops around here.

Nowt wrong with cloning a game... I played the original and though control was tricky and sometimes downright impossible at times, it wasnt a bad game over all.

Anyone remember Wild Cup Soccer on Amiga. That rocked socks. Penalty shoots were running around seeing how many headshots you could get... fantastic.

I own Chaos League and have to say it is great, but is such a rip off of Blood Bowl, and its good for a while. Has lots of stuff in it too, but it is not a polished product.

Speedball was fast and chaotic and the control mechanism for chaos league isn't as intuative and can't match for those fast paced games.

plus i have to admit the AI while better than a lot of games, still suffers the same old floors even on very difficult.

Still HERO's in the game rock

    Ahh Yeah!!

Bomb the Bass' 'Assault on Precinct 13'... sampled from the original film... superb soundtrack.

I still blame the Bitmaps for me failing o-level Geography and having to re-sit the damn thing... if it wasn't for me being desperate to find out what the Bitmap Shades did, I'm sure I would've passed.

/Offers up virtual cookie to anyone who knows what the Bitmap Shades did...
