    Siemens SL65 - A forgotten gem?

With the recent demise of Siemens as a mainstream brand in mobile telecommunication (see the upcoming review for more info ) you have to question if the kit they created really was that bad, I mean the predecessor to the SL65, the SL55 was by far and away the smallest handset you could buy for quite sometime after its release.

Its a difficult question to answer, but with the aid of one of thier last truly Siemen's designs, I will take a look to see if it really was that bad and what, if anything, the new owners of the Siemen's mobile arm have taken on.

In the meantime, heres a preview shot or three...

Looks pretty swish - I'm kind of in the marke for a new phone, and that looks pretty cool.

Do Seimens re-use product names? 'Cos the SK65 is now a blackberry phne that I'm trying to see if anyone will stock

i like siemens phones. no-nonsense, the UI's not bad - i considered the sl65, but it was too pricy for my budget.

Agreed Ramedge, the lack of memory on the sony phone is what kept me from it. The d600 has 96 megs onboard and transflash mem card slot. 2 megapixel camera.

    noooooo!

stay away, its a horrible horrible thing to use, had one for a whilst I thought about getting my d500 repaired, usinng the sk65 was enough to put me off the repair until I could find a better substitute for 2 weeks.

proprietary flash memory for the sony mind you. I like my phone and look forward to the D600. At least it's not such a battle as AMD vs Intel. Whereas AMD is continuously giving Intel the shaft
