Yep, I've regressed back to my childhood, booted up the PS2 and giving Madagascar a thorough playtesting...

In a nutshell, Madagascar is a 3D platform game with a few action sub-games thrown in. For most of the game you’ll control one of the four main characters, Marty the Zebra, Alex the Lion, Melman the Giraffe or Gloria the Hippo… and you’ll also sometimes play as characters they meet on their travels, most notably the penguins.
