    What about Tomb Raider? there was a 70-line action replay code to replace the green top with flesh texture. intentional filth, i say!

    actually, i hate to say it, but there is HEAVY precedent against rockstar and ea in all this - Tecmo sued anyone they found associated with the nudity patches for Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball - so quite honestly, you can expect to see a massive drop in moddable games in the future as developers and publishers rush to prevent "kiddy rape" mods from being made by third parties and getting the blame themselves

    and without the modding, why get a PC instead of a console for games?

    Thompson's new conclusion: EA is "cooperating, gleefully, with the mod community to turn Sims 2 into a porn offering."
    this isn't an attack on that crappy game women like to play. this is an attack on modding on the whole. and given the capitulation on gta, it's going to go very bad very fast

    {walking the fine line}

    in some ways, is it not better that a pedophile (this was the example used in the review) download the kiddy rape mod and live out his fantasies through a game rarther than kidnap a kid and rape him him self.

    just a thought

    Thats a very fineline.

    Arguement against it is that a paedo will be made frustrated by having these fantasies but not being able to let them out making them more likely to go attack kids.

    I just think its all the religious nuts.

    yes, it was a fine line and the opposite is true.

    Bottom line is even with no "stimulataion" a pedofile / killer / anyone with a dissorder of that nature will still offend.

    I think games/films/tv is being used as a get out, and parents should play an more active role in making sure that film/game/tv content is suitable for their kids.

    The bottom line is that these mods are altering the way the game is, i mean films have scenes cut to keep the ratings down so do games. If the codes not executed its as good as not there IMO. It might be sloppy practice but i dont think everyone should be made to pay for someones modding ambition. At the end of the day you have to go out of the way to make this stuff happen. I agree with Ikonia there jsut be used as a blame for everything thats wrong with sosity. There was a rumour that the 9/11 bomemrs used MS fligh sim to train, but they didnt ban that. Why not? Becuase its reducles. Someone could jsut as easily type int he adress of a porn site as the adress to of one of the websites to get theres mods. I think thats the bottom line.
