US company Olive has released a new product called "Symphony", a media center designed to allow central storage and wireless streaming of audio. It's aimed towards the classical music lover and claims to be engineered as a "true Hi-Fi component".
The Sympony is powered by a PowerPC and features the ability to store up to 80GB of audio in a lossless format - 20,000 songs according to Olive. That audio can be streamed to up to five receivers, written to CD or transferred to an iPod."The quality limitations of lossy audio formats and problematic integration of convergence technology have made most digital solutions unacceptable for music aficionados.", said Oliver Bergmann, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer and President of Olive Media Products, Inc. "Olive enters the market from the perspective of a true audiophile, eliminating the PC experience entirely."
Available next month, it'll set you back $899. Check out the press release for more info.
