To be fair this is one of those classic double edged sword deals.

I'll come out firstly by saying, yes I don’t particularly like the apple brand...I have my reasons some of which have been touched on here. However as much as I can dislike "istuff" I have to face the fact that without it the mp3 player market wouldn’t be where it was today and Apple have pushed it forward leaps and bounds. Sure they build there stuff with a 100% mark-up on price and early gen products inevitably break easier than a dry wafer but they DO LOOK GOOD. the interface I must say is a bit of a personal preference and the codec’s its supports are again at the discretion of the user, you bugged about porting your collection, why care once there changed there changed and you don't have to worry about it again till you decide to jump the band wagon for another player.

At the end of the day it's true that this is a minor fault hat can be dealt with easily, mind you I would have expected it not to have appeared at all what with the history of other ipods but hey it's their loss.

Still I think I'll stick with my iriver H10 for the time being

I think what a lot of people forget when "apple bashing" is that for a lot of the people the style and aesthetics are a big feature worth the money, I wouldnt spend the money on it, and so that they are woth it, if you want the stylish player then they are good value, if you applied the same thinking to most stuff al lot of expensive products could be considered bad value, just depends what you want

I think the 'Nano' is sort of alright but personally I would never get an iPod (unless I could afford one or win one) because they are just too expensive. I have instead bought an 128 MB 'Alba' MP3 player from Argos which is ok for me because I am a light user

Just one more reason why I'd never buy an iPod. Creative and Sony ftw
