    EA's Xbox 360 Line-up and launch title info

    Electronic Arts have released a load of screens from the Xbox 360 versions of their latest games. Over in Amsterdam they are busy telling everyone what they've got coming up for the Xbox 360 as well as what will be ready to play when the console is released.

    I did wonder, while coding the article up, how 'more realistic grass' would actually affect gameplay...

    I can see that better graphics in racing games and flight sims would be a boon, the same for FPSs, but I think we're now on the very threshold, if not past it, of graphics only doing so much and gameplay once again coming to the fore.

    As the Xbox 360 is being hailed as 'the developers box', ie, its easier to code good graphics on, I think we'll see a lot of graphically stunning games (compared to now) in the future that, had they been released now would have been successful, but will end up actually flopping, purely because gamers will want gameplay, not eye candy.

    (If you want an example of graphics making game successful, look no further than Doom 3, and for proof of gameplay making a game successful, try Tetris! )
