I won't say I like the idea or hate the idea as with many things, this could be the beginning of something big, for example... I hear when EFS motherboards become the norm, you may get OS's on flash memory cards much like the BIOS itself not a big deal you say?? Well how about instant booting OS's (by the way I can't remember what EFS stands for but its is set to replace the BIOS in a matter of years time, it has some potential in my opinion)

So I think its good that people like google undergo such experiments, because remember, great inventions are not perfected in a day...
