Thumbs up ASUS Extreme N7800GT Dual

Remember the Gigabyte 3D1? That product featured two GeForce 6800 GT GPUs on the same PCB that could run in SLI mode, giving you SLI with one card. ASUS followed suit soon after with two same-board SLI products based on the Geforce 6800 GT and the Ultra.

Sadly however those products were shelved before they hit retail. ASUS didn't give up on the whole idea though, and recently HEXUS have had the pleasure of testing a full production, full retail example of their Extreme N7800GT Dual. As the name suggests, it combines two GeForce 7800 GTs on one board.

In our exclusive first hands-on testing of the Extreme N7800GT Dual we've had a look at the board and its performance. As mad as you'd expect from something with its basic premise? Read our first look here to find out.

And for registered HEXUS.community members only, a look at the EN7800GT's power supply, as modelled by my girly hands next to the card on the test bench. Click for a bigger version.

    MOLLY AND POPPY!

Crazy stuff and good work by Hexus

Looks pretty damn sweet and I kinda like the idea of an external power supply: dunno why - it just makes sense
