Street robbery soars as iPod users targeted

POLICE have blamed a sharp rise in the number of street robberies on the increasing popularity of iPods, MP3 players and the new generation of internet-connected mobile phones.

Figures to be released by the Home Office later this month are expected to reveal that muggings rose by almost 40% in some parts of the country last year.

If something is popular, expensive, and easy to nab - it will happen. The white headphones are more than a give away.

i'm sure i read something about this *ages* ago, but then i seem to remember that it was also phoney. Stands to reason though, people prance about with them as a fasion item.

If I bought one, I'd replavce the headset with a set of Sennheisers... very nice indeed - and not so obvious!

as a side thought, i wonder how many people have replaced their regular headphones with ipod-looking ones to make them look 'cool' etc.
