American, Asian and Australian sites are reporting on Sony's latest ultra-portable Vaio notebook, the VGN-TX17, built from carbon fibre, finished in two-tone black-and-white and weighing just 1.24kg.
The newcomer – black outside, white inside - has an 11.1in widescreen display (1,366x768 native resolution), a 1.2GHz Intel Pentium M 753 processor and carries readers for SD cards as well as Sony's own Memory Stick.
Intriguingly, the VGN-TX17 is said to be able to play movies or display images without booting into Windows - thanks to a 12-second instant-start AV mode.
