It's coming...[TGDaily]IBM saved the official announcement of the volume production of the processor for the morning of the first day of the Fall Processor Forum, where the company is expected to reveal further details about the processor's architecture. According to IBM, the chip is currently manufactured at the firm's East Fishkill, New York fab as well as Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing in Singapore to meet the estimated demand for Xbox 360 consoles.

Does the timing of the commencement of mass production sound about right? Seems a little late to me, but then i'm not in the console manufacture and distribution business!
Just hope GAME dont make a mess of my pre order.
jtb, i'd certainly agree with you, i'd say that to me it is a bit late, I've worked in a telematics company and we had stock 3 months in advance ready and going through complete testing, We're talking smaller scale sure but 50000 units still took a while to build, I'm not sure how many consoles are ready for launch date but 1million for europe is a figure i've heard for the 2nd of Dec, add to that the consoles for Japan and the states and you have a very large scale build project.
Fingers crossed we don't get any problems with fabrication

I pre-ordered at the beginning of sept but still not confident this was early enough to get one on launch day.
I hope we all get them buzzard. But as TiG has confirmed, they seem to be pushing it in terms of getting the units out.
I'd expect a similar situation to the PSP - you watch ebay prices rocket as little johnny moans to mummy that he wants an XBOX 360 post launch.
