Venturi incorporates WiMAX technology in new all-electric car - the Fétish

Thanks to WIMAX technology and the technological assistance of Intel, the Monaco car maker Venturi presents its vehicle of the future: good-looking, clean and built with the future goal of sharing its energy

Intel and Venturi Automobiles announced a pooling of their talents and resources, which led to the WiMAX wireless data communication technology being incorporated into the all-electric car “Fétish”.
It's supposed to be quite nippy, too - "Zero to 100kph in 4.5 seconds, top speed of 170kph and a range of 400km"

    But, the catch is?

Read the release and start figuring it out.

one catch would be it appears to have no brake calipers, although that might be because its the car duke nukem will be driving in forever.

At a guess - the fact that you can alter the "driving parameters" or remotely discharge the battery via WiMAX.. which pretty much means that anyone determined enough could do it as well, not just the owner..

It was either that or you spend so much time surfing for porn over the WiMAX connection, you flatten the battery and end up stranded..

They had this car at the goodwood festival of speed, and my god its insane.

Normally you hear the car before you see it. Not with this one, the thing is close to silent and deadly fast.

Not sure, but i can envisage a future of people hacking into your car!

    "The cops are chasing us!"

"Don't worry, i will just discharge their battery using Sub 7"
