    GAME announce profits drop

GAME have announced an expected profits drop for this trading year, blaming poor software sales for older formats with shortage of the new consoles not helping things.

Check it out in this HEXUS.gaming Headline.

In all honesty I'm surprised sales haven't fallen even further than they have. Game are not really that competitive compared to other retailers, besides which, consumers are wising up. Companies like Play.com are usually the cheaper alternative.

I haven't bought anything from a Game store in years If I was in a rush to get a game I'd rather pay the premium and support an independently owned store.

GAME are just not competitive enough. I buy all my games from Play.com or HMV.

    Play.com are the real deal.

they're a fair indication of the market though - play.com don't exactly have a million 360's ready for a profit sensation

Sorry, I was thinking more along the lines of game sales, not consoles. For the past 4 years I havent really bought a console, and have no intention of buying one.

The only games I buy are PC games.

I can't remember the last time I bought a full price game from Game. Maybe it was Ocarina of Time for N64. Even the odd PS2 game I've bought at full price has been cheaper at Argos.

Yeah Play.com are far cheaper, and I dont really mind having to wait for a couple of days for the £10 or so saved, and if you pre-order something it arrives the same day as its out in the shops, sometimes a day before.

Game have quite expensive products compared to other shops so I guess thats why they have a drop in profits.
