Bragging rights versus bargain buy: Corsair XMS vs. Corsair ValueSelect RAM

Legion Hardware has an interesting review today, trying out both ValueSelect and XMS RAM from Corsair. Is it worth splashing out on the more expensive stuff?
Unlike the XMS memory the Value Select is unable to overclock using a 1:1 ratio with the processor. Overclocking really is a special ability of the XMS memory as there are versions that can easily achieve 500MHz and even 550MHz right out of the box. This means Corsair guarantees that their XMS PC4400 memory will be able to operate with a 1:1 ration with the processor using a 275MHz FSB! This is something no Value Select memory will ever be able to achieve. Therefore, anyone searching for the ultimate overclocking hardware will obviously be more interested in what the XMS series of memory has to offer.
Overclocking aside however, in terms of stock performance the ValueSelect is claimed to prove a wise choice.
