    Australia blocked by Kazaa

Unlucky Aussies will now find that they are unable to download Kazaa, following the passing of a deadline to implement copyright filters on the popular P2P network.
Sharman Networks, owner of the network, argued that by making the site inaccessible to Australian users it was complying appropriately with the court orders pending the outcome of the appeal.

"The Australian record companies have achieved their aim to stop the further distribution of Kazaa in Australia until an appeal court decides whether these orders should stand or not," a Sharman Networks spokeswoman said.

How exactly are they planning to block kazaa? That does seem like quite a strange thing to attempt to do. All idiots will just move to another network, and smart people who want to be using kazaa will find a way around it easily enough.

No, Kazaa has blocked Australian traffic from its servers in an attempt to satisfy the Aussie courts rather than placing content filters on it's network..
