2Gbit DDR2-800 heading for high-density modules
Memory chip manufacturer Elpida has begun sampling 2Gbit DDR2 modules. It is expected that these chips will initially be used in high-density modules aimed at high-end server systems.

The 2Gbit DDR2 is manufactured at Elpida’s 12-inch fab (E300) at Hiroshima, Japan. The memory is available in three different data rate speeds: 533Mbps, 667Mbps and 800Mbps. The supply voltage (VDD) is 1.8V+/-0.1V and the memory is packed under a 68-ball FBGA package.
