    Intel's new logo revealed

    It's swooshy and a bit cheesy - quite like the old Intel Inside logo then.
    ntel Corp. said on Thursday it will scrap its 37-year-old logo as part of a major rebranding that will emphasise the chipmaker's shift away from its core PC business into consumer products.

    The original Intel logo featuring a lowered "e" will be replaced with one showing an oval swirl surrounding the company's name.

    The phrase "Leap ahead" will supplant "Intel inside," which helped bring the company into the public awareness during the PC boom of the 1990s.
    [Reuters]

    There's an image of the new logo over at Engadget, where I initially found the Reuters link.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Incredible. Must have taken the finest design minds months to come up with that.

    Sad thing is - it probably did actually take them months and months.

    Oh man, I hate that. Why did they have to change the main logo... It looks so suave

    AMD all the way, then.

    #EDIT#
    Is it just me, or does the Intel logo's font match Engadget's?

    not exactly, but i see what you mean, it's the curve at the bottom of the letters that does it (the 't' is a good example)

    coincidence? who knows....

    Quite a poor attempt for a "new" logo

    The logo is ok but "leap ahead" is a bit ironic given their current CPUs.

    I know it makes no sense, but it was the best anagram I could come up with

    The actual 'Intel' bit is pretty good. The 'Leap Ahead' thing is just plain rubbish.
