PC buliding behemoth Dell has stated its intentions to increase its Indian workforce by 50% and build a manufacturing facility in the country. A number of the new jobs will be for call center staff, with a fourth Indian call center opening this year. Product development teams are also set to expand. The BBC has more:
Although Dell wants to set up a manufacturing unit in the country, the poor infrastructure may pose a problem, Mr Rollins said.

"We are looking for a suitable site to set up a manufacturing base.

"We would like the facility to come up sooner than later, though no time-frame has been set... but we are talking with [state] governments and partners."
Dell currently has a 4% market share for PCs and laptops in India, and with demand growing, it seeks to make that number bigger.
