Matrox unveils lite HD editing solution
As our world exclusive revealed, Matrox is indeed getting ready to launch a lower-cost, lite version of its upmarket, HD-capable video editing card, the Axio.
The Axio LE card alone is expected to retail for £2,795 ex-VAT; £3,285 inclusive - and unlike the original Axio, the card can be bought on its own, not only as part of a complete system.
As we said in our exclusive, although the card will still be out of most people's leagues, it does mean, we believe, that a far more cheaper "lite lite version intended for editing HDV consumer high-def video, rather than pro HD, shouldn't be a long way behind".
