Foxconn's intent on producing the some of the cheapest motherboards by leaving out legacy ports altogether.

Foxconn's rationale is that adding discrete chips or out-of-date ports pushes up the cost in the ultra-competitive low end of the market. Leaving out as much as possible, Foxconn says, allows users to add-in discrete cards of their choice.
