Wouldn't some sort of padding around (internally) the DVD drive help keep the noise in?
The ability to install games to your Hardrive would keep the noise down

The rest of it is actually quite quiet
When my warantee expires I'm going to see what I can do to dampen the sound of it.

Yep the dvd drive is a noisy mofo, glad to hear it's not just mine.
How long are the warranties on these here boxes? I may think of doing the same...spinning up the DVD drive means a lot of noise compared to idle/playing demo's

I'll be modding mine ta lot when thats up then
Hmm...not a bad idea considering the overheating issues with the Xbox 360 and complaints about noise. I think they'll get their solution to Microsoft soon.
