ouch - glad I dont play it with my nice G15 then
erm - what is it with the twisting of the info?.
"Your character was found interacting with the surroundings unattended" is the reason he was banned, so he was doing this with a programmable keyboard?.
Sounds like its a little bit more to this that has been reported.

ouch that sucks...if your harware has the option of macros and you use them...how is that cheating?
Fair enough to be honest, if he was using a dodgy macro that is.
Blizzard need to start banning more players, specifically all the gold cheaters out there (largely those buying/farming it, and imho those using one alt just as a gold farm)
Quote is from WoW Admin on the forums... (that is the keyboard is NOT illegal in game)We have looked into this matter and haven’t found reasonable cause to disallow usage of its functions for use in world of Warcraft.
We do, however, reserve the right to come back to this statement at a later point, at which we will inform our players.
Neither is the macros that you can write....
BUT the guy was using this to exploit things while he was NOT at his machine, to raise weapon skill.
He was messaged by GM's and did not response. It was determined that he was exploiting and banned accordingly.

Ah,..... he was a naughty boy then?
Yep, This is a rule thoughout any type of MMO game aswell, using macros/3rd party apps to "play the game for you" has always been a bannable offence in all online games ive played.Originally Posted by DavidM

Never liked the look of WoW either.... seems boring... Plus i'm never paying monthly for a game i've shelled out 30 quid already for!
Diablo (Main PC): Corsair Air 540; Gigabyte Z77-D3H; i5 3570k @ 4.4Ghz; 16Gb Corsair Vengeance PC3-12000; 120Gb Samsung 840 EVO; EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid; 2x Dell U2414H; Windows 10 x64.
Imperius (VM Server): 2x Intel 5640, 64Gb RAM, 2x1Tb, 6x Intel NIC, VMware ESX 5.5
Tyrael (File Server): Synology DS410 w/ 4x HD154UI; 2Gb RAM; DSM 5.2
For something you appear to have not tried, don't knock it. Its the most succesful mmorpg ever, with 5Million + people paying a monthly fee.
As for paying for a mmorpg, you get a new game every 6 months easy with the amount of content added.

We've only got his word on what he was up to, I'd suspect there was more to it.

Mark my words... I said this over and over again and actually took the piss out of friends and collegues who played EQ2 and stuff like that.Originally Posted by BlackDwarf
Oh how I ate those words when I applied for the WoW beta test. Instantly I was hooked and I've been playing it on and off since release. I get the odd 60 day pre--pay card when I can to play it, but some months with CS matches, LANS and social events in RL I put the account on pause till I'm less busy.
Anyway back on topic. There does seem to be a bit more going on than meets the eye here. First of all it started out that they seemed to pick him out for running Wine and then a virtual keyboard and now a G15....
How come Logitech advertise the G15 as an IDEAL solution for WoW and even the supplied software profiler detects WoW and says " World Of Warcraft: Profile Activated " once the game is loaded if it is not suitable for the game?
Logitech and Blizzard need to sort this out as many gamers will be getting G15's once stock levels in the UK get above none-exisitant, are Blizzard going to ban everyone using one?
"seems" boring? well, each to their own. If you have not played that I would advise that you dont judge the game though.Originally Posted by BlackDwarf
I dont see why paying per month for a game that hosts god knows how many servers, updates interface/game play all the time and pays hundreds of people just to help out the players of the game either in game or outside.
grr one tracked minds ftl!
