Thinking about it, the timing would be much better for a PSP2 graphics solution if the rumoured release dates are anything like accurate..
Maybe something like a customized "Go" chip from the thin and light range of mobile gpus?

It's almost definitely PSP2, given the data given to analysts at their Analyst Day recently (an excellent detail transcript of which you can find here by Uttar), a remark made by Jen-Hsun on a conference call prior to AD saying something like "PSP1 being the last major in-house graphics project" (so hinting at knowledge that PSP2 was going outside of Sony....).

Aye, hardly expect Sony to pay 30 million for a 7900 series GFX chip for the PS4... unless NVIDIA's marketing is really, really good....
