Terrestrial HDTV trial needs 450 London volunteers

The BBC and ITV are looking for 450 volunteers in London willing to test high-definition terrestrial broadcasts free for six months. The catch? Participants need HD-ready TV sets.

Big attraction looks to be World Cup football - all BBC and ITV matches will be included in the test.

    More in this HEXUS.headline.

I know that they'd wanted to let YOU have an HD TV set but were worried that they'd end up having to give away another 449 sets and so decided not to make an exception.

I thought that people in Norwich got to play with all the telecom-related trials - especially wireless/microwave, on account of the lack of hills.

Or was that somewhere else entirely?

    London maybe?

Well we are having a free 512k city wide wireless system being installed as we speak...

Although its not public access yet (or doesnt show up in a search) Ive seen the access points being installed on lamp-posts.

Shame it's London only. Me got HD and would like to see Planet Earth in HD. Oh well.
