Kotaku spoke with Igor International who believe that the announcement is nothing more than a viral campaign. Nintendo say that they have applied for the trademark but are waiting for it to ‘come through’.

Does anyone think that it will be annoying if publishers keep suffixing "Wii" to their titles? Super Mario Kart WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

By the way, it would be confusing if the console were no longer called Wii after the media frenzy last week.
