Good that a link to a vendor offering a discounted price is included - but another tenner can be saved by shopping around (Play are rarely the best buy in hardware, in my experience).
Nice review, made me want to buy some, seeing as my Sony Fontopia's are falling apart now, for the second time. Which brings up a point; what's the cable strength like on the Shures? I love my fontopia's, but the cable falls apart in about two months.
I tried out these headphones as well and, if I had that type of money to spend on headphones I'd definately buy them.
They totally absorb you into the game on the PSP, despite there being a DJ in the background pumping out some tunes.

First post for me here.
I bought the e2c's from Best Buy (in the US) and Shure's own site says that there is absolutely no difference between the sound quality of the e2c's and the e2g's. They cost the same amount, after all. The only differences, I think, are that the cable on the e2g is shorter and that the e2c is clear (though there is a black model, but the black model is a facsimile of the e2g in every respect )
So anyway, my point is, maybe you should put a recommendation for the e2c in the review while youre at it
yeah much much cheaper @ headphoneworld for the whole range:

that's a link to the e2g's, but all of sure's range are there
Cool what's the cable like?
I personally love my Sony EX71's, they do a good job at blocking sound and have a great sound..but they have the 'Sony upper class headphone cable issue' where they use a nicer looking and feeling cable, but it's shocking quality and falls apart after a few months of normal use (or seconds if you happen to trap the cable in a zip heh.
Mine are currently held together by cellotape lol, they still work but i get the occasional electric shock I just can't bring myself to spend another 30-40quid on some decent in-ear headphones if the cable isn't up to it.
These sure ones tempt me tho, if they have a decent cable on them
The cable's pretty thick, but not excessively so (about 3mm diameter). It's one cable - as opposed to stock headphones that have two insulated wires that are 'glued' together - that splits into two via a plastic thing (i'll post a pic if i can ). It does feel pretty well made and i think it should last for a decent amount of time
What are you using them with?Originally Posted by Whiternoise

I've got a pair E2C's which I've had for about 3 years now, used daily; the cable is still going strong with no signs of wear or tear. The sound is very good with my iAudio M3 and they really brings the sound effects alive with a PSP.
I bought them to block the wind noise you get when cycling with earphones and they do this very effectively. Only problem is that you cant hear a thing when people are talking to you but then again I suppose that's the whole point of them.
Lol, I've got some duck tape around mine, holds up quite well, and it's black, so more discrete.Originally Posted by Spud1
Thanks for the cable info jimborae and Whiternoise, excellent news for me - very likely they'll be my next set now.
I love my Etymotic ER6i, but will probably try the E2g soon

I would love a pair of shure earphones but they are just a bit pricey. Is there anything that comes close to that sound for under £40? I currently use soundwise e2 's which are great for the money. They also have the g3 earphone at £25 which has really good reviews. I am swaying over getting them.
I suppose what I am asking is where am I going to get the best sound for money balance?
Does more expensive always mean better sound?
