    SGI files for bankruptcy

High-end workstation and server maker SGI has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with the US bankruptcy court. Over recent times the company has been under competition from other companies offering similar solutions with more standard (yet increasingly fast) hardware.
The Mountain View, Calif., company, which employs more than 1,800 people world-wide, listed assets of $369.4 million and debt of $664.3 million in its bankruptcy filing. Earlier this year, Silicon Graphics replaced its top executive amid widening losses and lower revenue. It posted a $76 million net loss on sales of $730 million in 2005.

Isn't Chapter 11 Bankruptcy what most of the US airlines are in? If I'm right that means they intend to trade their way out of debt, and therefore SGI will be with us for a while longer
