Homebrew on the PS3

Sony executive Izumi Kawanishi has said that the company will be encouraging homebrew coding on the PlayStation 3 when it launches in November .

So they should... as it's how many people in the past first got thereselves into coding...

i wonder how useful this will be though - unless people get pretty low-level hardware access, this will be the realm of 2d-only apps

its a start, I like how they are trying to work with pirates to stop them from pirating i.e. Region free games so that people don't "chip" their consoles to play them, and downloadable games aswell. PS3 really is looking good!
