Further delay for Vista consumer launch looks ever more likely

It's starting to look ever more likely that the consumer version of Vista, the next iteration of Windows, will be now be arriving later than Microsoft's most recently promised delivery date of January 2007.

Following on from our CTS news story of two weeks ago - CTS - 2006 :: Windows Vista to be delayed again, according to MS - further evidence has come from PC Advisor. It says that Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer was apparently hinting as much this week in Tokyo - in a [little-reported] news conference.

Oh dear....I'm trying to tie in my next hardware upgrade with Vista, (get some DX10 VGA goodness etc. if it's viable), but it looks like I'll be saving the pennies for a bit longer

Cmon MSoft! I signed up as a member of the MSDN Academic Alliance at university just so I could get a free copy of Vista!

Don't delay too much or I'll miss out!

    *sigh*

i always assumed it wouldnt be out untill Q2 2007 anyhow......

well, with all the crap they are bundling with it, i doubt i will be buying it, probabally be upgrading to linux instead, atleast when M$ drop support for XP

not to mention my laptop only has 512mb of ram.... and it can only support 1gb so i wouldnt be able to play a single game on it if i upgrade to vista.....

Surely any game that you *need* Vista to play will be a DX10 title and wouldn't work on your lappy's GPU anyway?
