"Comes with free Rootkit".
Looks very nice though.
They might be secure enough, but they are no where near well built enough.
Are there ANY laptops that would necessarily survive even a small dousing - apart from models specially made and sold as being ruggedised?Originally Posted by FatalSaviour

Or are you saying this is the case for the models you have had hands on with and so are expecting the same to be true for the TX3, cos you know it's built exactly the same way?
I made that post at work today, and looking at it now, it comes over unnecessarily harsh.Originally Posted by Bob Crabtree
I think tbh that it was probably an unlucky spill....I've repaired 3 or 4 laptops now, where coffee (the main culprit), water, or beer has been spilt over them...they've all come through ok with little to no replacement needed, apart from the one Sony I had a look at.
Incidentally, it was the only laptop where I was actually present when the incident happen, and a tiny amount of water got on it. Switched it off immediately, took battery out, dried it, left it for 2 days...but it was a complete write off .
Not trying to Sony bash here though, and any moves to make a more rugged laptop are readily welcomed by me
