To me, the concept can be extended somewhat.
I have a 28" telly, but if I sit really close to it, it's a virtual 90" screen.

Yes, and, you could put mirrors all round you to make it a 360degree experience (having a squint helps there, I find).
On the downside - you'll need a big shopping trolley to carry this stuff around when you're out and about with the telly connected to your video iPod. And a VERY long mains extension lead, too.
It would be nice if this supported different for each eye, then you would be able to watch stuff in 3D.
I seam to remeber that nVidia drivers have had support for 3D glases for years, but it is hardly ever used, because it is so cumbersome. (You needed LCD shutter glasses, and a monitor that would support at least 160Hz refresh rate) With these glases 3D gaming might make a comeback.
