ATI hint that RV560 and RV570 are late in Q3 FY 06 CC

ATI's next mid-range GPUs are looking a little late, and today's ATI financial call to go over Q3 06 results seems to confirm that.

Check out our HEXUS.headline covering the call, here.

Looking forward to a range of cheaper, cooler SKUs to replace the likes of X1800 XL? RV560 and RV570 are what'll power products in the mid-range when they arrive.

Except most people don't have the money for that, and most SIs will sell less of them.

edit: and right now (hours after my HEXUS.sharewatch, so it wasn't included) ATI's shares are down 11%. It's like NVIDIA's results all over again.
    PHP Code:

Might just be me, but all I ever see from OEM's is either integrated chip's or ball breakingly high-end. Most people who build wouldn't be seen dead with a mid-range (unless a whole lot of people lie in their sigs).

So who buys these? and in such numbers that nvidia and ati are throwing huge amounts of money into them.
