The Evo - set to launch soon!

Evo: Phase One combines computer, media center, and PC gaming into one unit. The system will also boast amazing graphics supported by the Sapphire RADEON HDMI X1600 Pro graphic card. The Sapphire RADEON X1600 Pro has 12 pixel pipelines that provides the highest graphics performance in its class even for shader intensive gaming; equipped with 128MB of DDR3 memory and this model features clock speeds of 500MHz (core) and 800MHz (memory).
Another new console? Or is it something else entirely??

Check it out in this Press Release.

I wouldn't say it was a "console" as such, more of just a living room friendly PC.

The problem with PC games is they're mostly confined to the desk, I guess this sort of system is designed to bring them to the sofa.

I'm sorry but I just don't see the appeal in this. Who would want one of these?

I'd imagine the same people that buy purpose built media centres.

They're going to have to do a hell of a lot of marketing to shift any of those units.
