Zune's the final name of Microsoft's Argo portable solution. Or is it?

Bill Gates has sneezed and the whole web's reporting it. More accurately, the rumour mill about Microsoft's forthcoming handheld MP3 player/ video player/ portable Xbox, code-named Argo, is now really hotting up.

Gizmondo reckons that Zune will be the final name and that the player will be on sale for Christmas - in white and possibly black, too. But it's not convinced that what will arrive will be a games console.

hmm looks like a hybrid of all the iPod generations along with a decent sized screen to me

The have the clickwheel from 4g, the buttons from 3g, the size from 1/2g, a bigger version of the latest screen..it's an iPod!

Well, almost, the screen looks to be a decent size, so would be good for videos, and possibly even for using as a PDA. If it's a touch screen then theres no problem with a lack of buttons...could be an interesting device - if only they can come up with a decent name for it, the 'Zune' is _horrible_

well yes frankly...wii has humorous connotations, and its something that can and will be talked/joked about often..

zune just sounds crap, not catchy, funny, clever..just a random name.
