I'd say by the colour it was MSI, and by the passively cooled northbridge that it was an ATI chipset. Socket AM2 obviously.

    So, MSI's RD580 AM2 Crossfire board?

    Simon

Edit to say the SATA port colours are definitely MSI, and I can just see a bit of the sticker on top of the parallel port where MSI put their NIC's MAC address, so I'm confident it's them...

judging from the size of the SB sink.. I'd say its probably an ATI board with the overrated SB600..
    Me want Ultrabook

Argh... This one's frustrating... Colors point to an MSI board (sata connectors, PCB color) but I can't find a board that matches that exactly...

My guess is that is uses some nVidia chipset or a new ATi CS chipset... Probably ATi given the heatsink color. (Strange thing to base a guess on, but it works for me )

Ah well, back to work T.T

It's a toughie isn't it...! Maybe the pic on the MSI site is from a pre-production board? But I take your point about the different SB cooler colour and the MOSFET (?) cooler by the CPU socket.

Yup, the shots (the larger top down one) on the MSI site appears to be pre-production or somesuch.

The iso view (that links to the top down one) on the MSI site has SATA ports that match the few other shots of the K9A floating around on other review sites.

Shots on other review sites make me reckon it's deffo a k9a plat

Agreed with the k9a platinum - presumably the mosfet cooler can be removed, just look at the line up on the MSI site and it's clear they've been arranged to sit under a cooler.

I think it's possibly the MSI K9N Platinum, but I'm not quite sure, K9N is the closest one I could find, unless (like someone else said) the pics above are pre-release pics, or Hexus has sneakily modded the board for the pics
