Looks yummy.
Looks blurry - much like most other PS3 screenshot I've seen.
It looks very bad compared to the PC version, textures are very low, and the models arent as full.. a lot of the shader effects are off as well... and this is supposed to be the 'great' PS3 with a Geforce 7 based GPU? Alma doesnt even have a nose or eye sockets.. its a flat face.. wth? The lighting effects looks nothing like on the PC one too, specially the ones where the flames are leaping down the corridor after Alma.
Jeez. PS3 is not looking good...
Then again, why buy something thats a lot more expensive, got similar graphical capability, hardware that isn't working yet, and same games on both it and Xbox 360? And games costing a clear £10-20 more.. wheres the incentive?
The Wii is going to win this round hands down. Pure fun. Pure cheapness.
Am I wrong in saying that the PC version looks better :/
Everyone expects the PS3 graphics to be on par with PC graphics... it won't happen I'm afraid. Geforce 7900 isn't even up to the X1900 which is effectively what the Xbox has except its improved somewhat, unified and whatnot :). But anyway I didn't think it was about the graphics for the sony since that always happens, Xbox graphics > Sony Graphics > Nintendo graphics. But who cares? A console is supposed to be for gameplay...
I think the performance of a 7900 to a X1900 equivalent is somewhat marginal in this circumstance. Any significant performance issues are going to be focused on the Cell chip, and how much of an apparent benifit it is...Quote:

What the hell is going on over there?
Are we about to see the first paper launch of a console?
No that was basically the Gizmondo, that was one big paper trail, leading to two "scammers" (who I've met personally as we were semi-involved with the project at one time).Quote:

To be honest Sony shot themselves in the foot with that Killzone 2 trailer (well to me anyway). Look out proeduct will be able to do THIS... If it doesn't do THAT then I feel they've not succeeded in what they expected to achieve with the product. They've had almost a good year of R+D time over Microsoft, but I have a feeling its done them no good.
Now before anyone says I've forgotten about Wii....
Yes Wii will be good, yes I'll be getting one, but its gonna be absolutely nakering, you couldn't do a 3 hours session waving your arms around like that, its not practical. It'll be great for after the pub jokes but for "gaming sessions", or games with a bit of lifespan that are not just a "pick up and play" affair, I can see it being a bit wearing/tiring.
And before anyone says you can just use the D-Pad.... Yes but you can do that on a Xbox360 and PS3 which will probably give you better visuals and sound.
It'll win handsdown because they'll be nakered and unable to move upwards after you've played a few games of anything ;)Quote:

Wait a minute. Isn't it normal for all of the screenies and specs for a console due to be released soon to be vastly BETTER than current top of the range PC specs/graphics?
Or are Sony just trying to be Chic and buck that trend so more idiots buy their cr@p.
Certainly very interesting to release such poor looking screenshots. But maybe their arguement will be 'ah, but that's just the non-HD version'.
And you're worried about being knackered after some wii-ing? Think of it as the most entertaining excercise machine yet :p We will tackle childhood obesity! :p
You calling me fat? :surprised:Quote:

I'm just saying I think the games will be great for a pick up and play blast, but for a long spell you could end up with WSI (Wii-petitive strain injury) or something. Imagine playing resident evil while having to aim pointing at the screen for 3 hours or something....
But this is Sony we're talking about - they have a long tradition of showing off renders as though they were in-game graphics - they did it for the PS2 and they're just doing the same for the PS3. It's amazing how arrogant they are towards their customers - and equally amazing how many people (even now) say they're willing to part with serious cash for the PS3 _just on the brand name alone_. I said it many months ago and I'll say it again - the PS3 will have nothing over the '360 technologically and one will cost double the other. Only the games will matter - and devs have had final 360 hardware for long enough to give it the edge.Quote:
