    being a reluctant owner of 30gb video ipod i have to say that it does not impress me at all, my creative muvo mp3 player sounds better and is easier to use and carry, my laptop plays movies that i can watch !, and apple just rips you off with the price of accessories etc. rant over!
    But most likely it is no longer the latest fashion accessorie and the beautifull people have moved onto something new.....

    I've just ordered a new 30gb iPod - one of the main reasons was that it now has Tetris and other games built in. My other main reasons are that I personally love the ability to rate the tunes in iTunes and love iTunes playlist management, and play-count.

    I have had other mp3 players and the ipod just does it very very well. (click / scroll wheel, playlists, etc)

    The new ipod has gapless playback as well.

    Games, hmm. It seems you cant buy an electrical product these days without a game or two on it. I would not be suppried if toasters have java pong to play while you are waiting for your breakfast to cook soon!

    But at last, the iPod looks like a device i could actually want now. Do you have any links to some good info, especially on the gapless? (the Apple site is just all gloss).

    I'll add that to my list of final year project ideas
    PHP Code:

    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    iPods have always had games, they've just always been simple and pretty crap (except the "name that song" game, which rules). The new ones do look pretty good but I'd never play them.

    If you get the new iTunes, then when you plug in your iPod, you will get a "Update Available" and if you choose to click yes, then the subsequent upgrade will give you brightness control, gapless playback, and a new search facility

    I'm used to getting the standalone updater so i can see the updated feature list, but maybe its another way to just tie you into iTunes... I got a refurbished ipod Video and it does well and for £140 its a decent price - came without a scratch if anyone asks.

    But i love my dance music so was a bit peeved at first but with this new firmware update, its great.
