Sony's strength in hardware is declining says Sony boss

That's right, these are Ken Kutargi's comments. If he's not confident how can we be?

Check out the Headline for more info.

At least he recognises this and can do something about it.

Sony have slowly been admitting they have problems for the past year or so. Hopefully they can do something about this. I know there is a lot of hate for them, but i still like Sony and their products.

Because they generally make inferior products that have rediculous pricetags, I feel they need to drop their price significantly on products such as LCD TVs to compete with Samsung etc.

Average products with stupid price tags.

Also, google "Sony rootkit" - for that reason alone, i will not buy Sony products unless i *have* to.

hmm. i think some areas on sony like laptops are different to other makes which will still keep them above cometition, but i hate how they overprice accessories becuase you have already bought something expensive.

e.g. i bought a new sony laptop which was top of the range, however to buy a sleeve for it cost £80. its just a normall cloth sleeve with the logo, whihc i find rediculous.

Thats good value for money... I mean you're not paying for the brand or anything, you should have got the Sony Vaio Dusterstation Portable™ as well, its about £30 and its just a jay cloth, it comes with a free rootkit as well so you can't go wrong

half of Sonys problem is the same one most massive conglomerates have. When one department screws up, the whole organisation gets tainted.

Sony is the only company like it i can think of that brands everything it does with the same name. Most other conglomerates have different devisions with different names (Panasonic, Technics - same company). If sony did this people would argue against getting a digital camera because of the RootKit fiasco.

The upside of their branding is that in the past beople have bought into the brand and been quite loyal. Things may be changing for sony though as technology is moving faster than they can so people have be go for different brands.
