Wii - The final details are here for Japan & US

Looks like the Japanese and US launch dates and prices have been confirmed. Still no word on Europe yet.

Expect plenty of Wii news today as we should hear about the launch games etc..

Come on Nintendo, make Europe the first to get it...you know you want to.

Check out the Headline for more info.

I hope it isnt as much as that as that is bordering on the xbox360 core package price. Especially if you have to pay extra for the nunchuck. In Japan it works out as under £115 and about £130 for the US

    # Wii Nunchuka controller to be sold seperately.(approx $15)
So you don't get at least one full set of a controller, (wii mote and nunchaku).
If this is the case, this is a slight let down for me.

If it's $250 in the US, I wouldn't be surprised to see it at £199 tbh..

If it's under £160 I might well get one

Yes unfortunately Nintendo like to rip the UK off as well - gamecube games in the states are only 20 dollars now most of the time.. but they're still 30 pounds over here

i can't see it selling massively if its too much over £150. As the xbox360 isn't that much more than that. Also remember, that if the nunchick is reputedly meant to be $15 in the US on top of the console price then it will be between £20-£30 in the UK. This means that with a base price of £150, it could almost be £180 for the full controller experience.

To be honest, i expect around £150 including the nunchuck. Remember ninty keep going on about it be considerably cheaper than the ps3 (not too difficult) and the xbox360. One also has to remember that the Gamecube wasn't a great success, so it cant be too expensive otherwise people will just remember the gamecube kind of flopping and plump for an xbox360 (personally i love the GC but i the majority of 'gamers' dont)

Is the Wii region locked? I might be better off getting a japanese one for £110 as i have relatives over there

the console comes with remote & nunchaku. it's further purchases that don't. the price point of both items is pretty low, though

Apparently Argos changed their wii banner to read March 2007, then took it down - lets hope thats not the case!
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

I'm going for £169 - probably the most they can get away with due to the X360 pricing.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see us not get it until next year.
