Fujitsu is one of the first companies to announce that it is taking advantage of the global battery-recall offer from Sony to makers of notebook PCs (see this headline, Sony gets pro-active with global laptop-battery recall). However, it says that is "not aware of any instances of battery pack problems involving Fujitsu notebook PCs similar to those that have been announced by Dell and Apple Computer".

The Japanese firm did, though, carry out a recall in June 2005 for around 250,000 Sony-sourced batteries where there was a risk of fire. The company gives no indication of the number of batteries it's expecting to replace this time round nor details of how the recall is going to be handled (consultations with Sony are still on-going) but does now list the notebook models that will be covered.
