HEXUS.gaming :: Hands-on Preview - Pro Evolution Soccer 6 - Xbox 360

We've been dying to get our grubby paws on Konami's next-gen soccer title and were lucky enough to get some hands-on time with the game. Our conclusion? We're just not sure yet.

Check out the Preview for more info.

Not a bad thing tbh.

Sounds like the gameplay improvements are making it more realistic...which is much better

Yeah, sort of agree, although I did love playing as Henry and taking on the whole team, but yep it's certainly more realistic if you can't do that anymore.

You have no idea how much my mates used to hate me for "wiggling up the pitch"

I had to promise not to play as Arsenal online cos I'd always run straight up the pitch weaving around the opposition.

Or Owen - cr@p tho he undoubtedly is now - was an absolute legend on PES!

After playing it for so long we all got so good at it that you HAD to pass loads to even get near the goal

I know alot about this game already so i would like to share some of my knowledge with you..

i will not buy this game because..

In the edit mode, you can only edit players appearance.
Their are no tranfers between teams, no changing shirt numbers, and finaly NO SHIRT EDITING. so of you support someone like liverpool than you be playng with a plain red shirt throughout the game..

The online mode is only 1vs1 as well plus they got rid of the whole german league and only left bayern munich

o and to add another critisism of the game, the game contains only 8 STADIUMS. yes only 8, whilst the ps2/pc contains a full edit mode (shirt edit, transfers etc..), 4vs4 online (pc vs ps2 users) and over 20 stadiums..

ok my rant is over...

If you want a source to my information, just go to absolutely any forum based on pro evo. their was even a interview with the top konami guy called seabase who admited all the above i just emntioned.

i spose most of that stuff depends on whether you care about gameplay, or whether you want it to have all the names/colours of your favourite clubs. fifa has always favoured the latter, if you're looking for an alternitive

The point is that how come ps2/pc have more features than a NEXT GEN title?

i diddnt expect pro evo on the 360 to have proper next gen graphics but come on, pretty much no edit mode? i expected it to have the same features has the ps2 but instead of adding enw features for a next gen console, they put less in it.

to me the 360 version is just poor attempted at it. why pay more for a next gen title that has only half teh features of the ps2 version

Interesting, I might add a couple of your points to end if I may.

Yea thats fine steve.

to kempez:

if you have a decent PC than why dont you buy it for the pc instead? the game is only £17.99 on play.com, thats half price in comparison to the half attempted at the 360 version..

Cause there aint any way I can pick up my PC and take it to a mates house! I have a console for games like Pro Evo and stuff to play with my mates in front of the TV rather than crowded round a PC screen
