Hauppauge's latest is a £100 twin-tuner Freeview TV card, the WinTV Nova-t 500, said to run on Windows XP Pro, Home and Media Center Edition - and be forward-compatible with Microsoft's forthcoming new Visa operating system.
The company's own software is included in the bundle. This lets Windows XP/MCE users watch and record TV, access a seven-day programme guide and convert recorded TV programmes for viewing on iPods and Sony PSP portable media players.

One disappointment, though - there is no Vista beta software available to download, in the expected place as best as I can see.

I have one of these in my Media center PC (Shuttle SN21G5, 1GB RAM, GeForce 7300LE, Athlon XP 3200+, MCE 2005). It's pretty good, save a couple of things.
The design of the tuner is such that the tuning hardware is actually connected over USB, like Hauppauge's TV sticks. However, the PCI card has its own VIA USB controller. On leaving S3 standby, the device needs to renumerate, leaving the remote inoperative and the tuners unavailable for 10-20 seconds.
The remote is pretty good, although sometimes goes a bit mental for no apparent reason.
Dual tuning/recording with the T-500 is fairly reliable. Sometimes flakes out, but I blame MCE more than anything.

I couldn't speak for the Hauppauge remote as I use the Microsoft hardware kit, but I've not had mine lockup as yet but then again I don't have the system powering down as it's on all the time.

If that stil the case with this card? There is no USB sochet on the card and a free USB port isn't as a requirement in the specs.
Or does it include it's own USB chipset and just connect internally to that?
No need for a USB port, it's just an internal way of fiddling 2 tuners to 1 PCI slot.
Some dual tuner cards do require a USB port to work. The Fusion HDTV DVB-T Dual for example.

Seen the Nova-T 500 for about £80 is is a cracking price for two tuners.
This ones new I believe, I haven't seen any reviews of it yet and it's only £59

i wonder is this would produce less heat that two regular DVB-T tuners? as they are based on the small low powered USB and PCMCIA tuners i would like to think they would. This might cut the ambient heat inside my HTPC. hmmmmm....
