I think this may be something of a ploy by the games companies, as when I was looking through the play.com coming soon section I noticed this. It seems that if your willing to pay for the game+something that you can get the game before it's avalible to buy standalone.

Yeh. Fifa and PES broke street date and was released on the wednesday instead off the friday.
I was chatting to our friends at Curry's and Gamestation today (its weird, most people think the chains hate eachother, but we regularly go and see eachother, its amazing how many people come in saying ''x' has got this deal on will you price match it...... oh, don't go and see them will you?' hehe) and HMV can't be selling GoW... because the stock doesn't exist in the UK yet :S
