HEXUS increases infrastructure

Early this morning (Sunday 12th) HEXUS unleashed some new servers in the backend.

This, coupled with some major optimizations to MySQL and PHP has enabled faster delivery of content, to you the readers.

HEXUS has seen massive growth over the past year, and this is one of several upgrades over the next few months.

Lots and Lots of new bits 'n' bobs going in

Multiple Sockets, Multiple Cores, Loads (and I mean LOADS) of Memory - Hardware RAID and Management throughout Redundant PSUs - Redundant Switches, and Connections. With the huge growth we have seen this year, we have had to re-engineer and decide how we run the HEXUS servers and clusters.

This is the largest investment in servers in the history of the company

Ironically - I sorted out my cellar this weekend, and found the first ever HEXUS server - a P200MMX which sat under my desk when I was at Nildram

We may release some details of our setup but we have invested a lot in it - time, money and equipment so we will be careful how much details we give out

Would it happen to be a gateway2k PC? Was just that my first PC was a p200MX and way a gateway.

Wah? 11 Servers... thats seems alot more than i expected. I wonders how many GBs are taken up by the forums (come on guys, if we keep poking Dave with question in sure he'll crack and reveal all his secretsesss)
