404??
Edit: sorry seems to work now.
Probably the servers updating... most definitely not an error between the chair and the keyboard at my end... ;)
probably pebcak at my end.
Glad I don't need a DVD player then :p
I don't think something like that would really put people off buying a Wii at release. It's 'only' DVD playback support after all.
Won't it just be a software upgrade on the console itself which enables DVD playback? Or is the drive itself not compatible with DVD's?
after all that preaching of a pure gaming machine...
i still want one though
I heard about this a while ago. Nintendo confirmed that it was happening in Japan but gave a very definite 'no comment' for the rest of the world. I'm glad I already have a dvd player, 2 consoles with dvd playback and 2 pc's capable of playing dvds onto my tv.
I have enough DVD players already I wouldn't wait that long just for playback, there can't be many people (especially this country) with a passing intrest in technology who do not have a DVD.
its a sensible choice - just like what they did with the panasonic Q for the gamecube.
Dvd players are commonplace now, and Nintendo have already stated they are trying to produce a fun, gaming machine - not a jack of all trades like the 360 or PS3 :)
So a wise move I think...means we don't have to pay for the licencing cost when we buy the 'normal' wii in a few weeks :)
Is it possible that they're considering using DVD's for game content (i don't know the capacity of the current discs)?
who just saw the advert?
